Meet the Via Nano

CPU maker Via is in direct competition with Intel’s mobile CPU/chipset market with their low-power NANO processor. It competes directly with Intel’s ATOM CPU, which is aimed at the emerging subnotebook/ultramobile hardware devices, including the popular ASUS EEE PC ( http://eeepc.asus.com/global/index.html ) subnotebook, and many more coming out recently.

It seems as though this new market is exploding – and it’s a race to see who can engineer the fastest, most reliable and low power devices around. This means nothing but good things to the consumer, as these devices are also aimed at being “ultra-affordable” (The EEE was a mere $399.99 when it came out in ’08).
