Microsoft to threaten license ‘dodgers’

Microsoft Corp. is apparently starting to crack down on illegal users of it’s software, by taking more aggressive action against those who use it illegally. Phone calls, letters, and eventually involvement with the Business Software Alliance (BSA) against companies who do not comply are among their list of actions to take in their new initiative.

From the article:

“Under the new programme, if Microsoft doesn’t receive a response after 14 days, the company will send a succession of three “escalation” letters over three weeks. The last two letters warn the case could be turned over the BSA, which could pursue legal action…”
