Pre-recorded calls to your phone? Report to the FCC in 1 minute or less online!

Posted by Jordan Erickson

PhoneI’m sure you are all painfully aware of the rising illegal pre-recorded telemarketing/scam problem. Even when you sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry, many telemarketers simply disregard it, interrupting your work or personal time. Luckily, now there is an easy way to fight it.

The FCC has set up a website to directly (and easily) report pre-recorded telemarketing/scam calls to your telephone (landline or cell phone). The process takes about one minute once you are familiar with the fields they require. You enter your information, any caller ID information obtained from the call, and a couple of other simple answers.

The more people that take an extra minute whenever they get a pre-recorded telemarketing/scam call and fill out the simple form, the faster telemarketers will get the message that they will be caught and punished for conducting illegal activities. Since finding this site yesterday, I personally have already filed 3 complaints. It feels good to know that I am part of what will eventually stop these annoying distractions, and even help fight people becoming victims of fraud conducted by some of these companies.
